Update to City Council Agenda for Thursday, September 21, 2017.
Since City Council met with Liberty House in May, the City has been seeking their input as to changes or amendments they desired to re-open Georgetown Steel Mill.
The City received Liberty House’s response yesterday and is conducting a review of the material. The City’s initial evaluation is that Liberty House’s input is positive and helps the City in our efforts to achieve our goals concerning the appropriate future use of the site as well as enabling Liberty House to successfully use the facility.
Therefore, the City is removing REDD from Thursday’s agenda as an action item so that Liberty House’s input may be considered before a vote is taken on the amendment.
The add in the Wednesday, September 20, 2017 edition of the Georgetown Times for the Public Hearing on the Comprehensive Plan was also involved with this steel mill rezoning process. That Public Hearing has also been postponed.
