Main Street Georgetown

Main Street Georgetown is more than just a business district. It is the heart of an economically and culturally vibrant coastal community. Main Street Georgetown is a partnership of the City of Georgetown, community organizations, and the business community, organized as The Georgetown Partnership Inc., a SC nonprofit corporation. The Georgetown Partnership officially became a Main Street South Carolina program, which is part of the National Main Street Center that was created by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  The initiative seeks to build a vibrant downtown in Georgetown, focusing on thriving businesses, entertainment, recreation, and historic and cultural preservation. It follows the Main Street Four Point Approach® of Organization, Promotion, Design and Economic Restructuring.

The mission of Main Street Georgetown is:

“To enhance, promote and protect downtown Georgetown as a center of community activity, tourism, and economic vitality through partnerships of businesses, organizations, citizens and government that ultimately makes the City a better place to live.”

The Georgetown Partnership Board meets the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm at the Scoville Law Firm Offices (1001 Front Street). Meetings are open to the public.

Main Street Georgetown needs engaged members of the local community to volunteer for the committees which will direct its activities and advance its purpose of a thriving downtown Georgetown Those interested in committee service may contact Gloria Bromell Tinubu,
